We all think of Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Indiana Jones and that one guy in Witness – gruff, tough and one of a select few who actually looks good without shaving. Ford is the epitome of dude cool. He’s so cool he could wear Teva sandals (with socks even!) and still be a certifiable badass. One thing most folks know about Ford is he’s tired of answering questions about Star Wars and Han Solo. He was the only person to leave the Star Wars franchise and actually have a career. I guess that means Natalie Portman is the female Harrison Ford, since she managed to develop a fruitful resume, complete with an Oscar win, after the craptastic prequels mercifully ended in 2005. But I digress. Check out the clip from Jimmy Kimmel Live! that Ford did whilst promoting his new movie, Cowboys and Aliens. Ford has a real knack for comedy, which he proved in Morning Glory and this clip below is nothing short of gut-busting. Enjoy!

So you know how everybody was pooping there pants over how the new Superman movie Man of Steel was going to come out next year in December? Well bring out the tissues because they decided to postpone it for six months. I know it’s pathetic and I’m pretty sure they will come out with some explanation why, but I already put it on my calendar in pen. How am I supposed to get that out? Huh Hollywood? Even if I scratch it out there will still be that reminder of what could have been. Now look at the gray background of that Superman picture. Does it look like there’s anything happy about it? No. Another reason people are sad about this is because we will never get to see it according to some ancient wack jobs the world is going to end in December 2012. And it’s around Christmas time. So not only are the children not going to get presents, we aren’t going to be able to see Man of Steel. That’s just great. Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill (Immortals) as Superman, Amy Adams (The Fighter) as Lois Lane, Dianne Lane (Secretariat) as Martha Kent, and Russel Crowe (Robin Hood) as Jor-El with director Zack Snyder who also directed Sucker Punch and 300. So let’s all pray the world will not end in 2012 which thanks to the movie 2012 we all hope will not be as boring and two hours of wasted time. You have no idea how long I’ve waited to say that on a post where millions of people can see it. As always please comment. Just no potty words (cough cough Andrew).

Happy Birthday Father! I love you so much! I just want everybody to know my dad is freaking awesome and all the other girls of the world should be very, very jealous. See that picture over there? That was taken before my dad and I went to my first Fall Out Boy concert. Of course you are going to look at me and see how cute and adorable I was. What am I saying? I still am adorable. Anyway, but see how cute we both are. My dad is awesome and you think I would be sad on his birthday because he is getting closer to middle aged which means closer to dying, but I’m not I’m just glad he is my dad. I love him so much I suffer threw dumb movies (Hereafter) and ones that make want to pee my pants and never sleep again. Guess what? I don’t do that for anybody else except sometimes my mom and sometimes those British movies are good. Well I hope you have a wonderful birthday Dad. Don’t worry when I’m rich and famous I will get you that monkey and the summer home in Fiji. And I will be there for you when you are old and can’t walk anymore to hire a nurse to do the stuff I would never do even if I could boil my hands afterwords. I love you dad and I am so lucky to have a dad like you. I hope you are crying over this. Just thought I’d let you know that. So even if you’re not lie to me and say you are. That is all.

There is nothing in the world of cinema that boils my beans more than bad movie manners. The movie theater is a sacred temple of entertainment and there are hordes of mindless miscreants in every screening that feel it their God-given right – just because they paid $8 (or more) – to talk, text and play games on their precious cell phones during a screening. It’s not so much the act that sends me into a hot rage, but the thoughtlessness and selfishness running through their brains. Have some respect. That’s why this little commercial from the Alamo Drafthouse, an Austin, Texas-based theater chain that serves beer and scrumptious food at its locations, is beyond hysterical and completely classic. This is one part PSA and another part heavey-handed mock/bitch slap to eek revenge on this airheaded texter who calls the Alamo Drafthouse to complain about being booted for texting during a movie. Just as a side note, the customer’s language is uncensored (and comical).

You know how tales are told of people puking and having the runs at the same time? Yeah, well that’s never happened to me. Thank the Lord for that. On the other hand, after watching this Saturday Night Live Digital Short from The Lonely Island (Akiva Schaffer, Jorma Taccone, Andy Samberg), called “Jack Sparrow,” I peed a little in my pajama jeans and shot Red Bull, a.k.a The Precious, out of my nose. I think The Lonely Island, particularly Andy Samberg, is hilarious, but Michael Bolton’s performance is what knocks this out of the park. This easily is my favorite, and that’s saying a lot because I gave hearty applause to both “D**k in a Box” and “Iran So Far Away.” At any rate, give it a watch below and grab your adult diapers…you’re going to need them.

I have to say, this picture makes me giggle because Michael Douglas must be on Cloud Nine after beating throat cancer and his giddy expression of photo terrorism achieved makes me smile. On this, Anchorman‘s six year, one month and one day anniversary, we take a look back at a towering achievement that not only affirmed who we are as human beings, but managed to capture that spirit in a glass case of emotion.
Despite opening on 4,468 screens and having a rabid fanbase of emotional tweens, teens and housewives, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which I thought was a decent movie – easily the best in the Twilight franchise, isn’t even going to come close to Toy Story 3’s summer score at the box office. As of this writing, Edward and Jacob sit a cool $100 million behind Buzz and Woody. Hell, it hasn’t even beaten its predecessor, The Twilight Saga: New Moon. So, thanks for nothing Twihards. Hot Topic might have won, but I sure didn’t. I thought for sure you loons would win me a steak. I didn’t realize the Team Edward and Team Jacob throng, while loud and obnoxious, was actually pretty small. Sure, your multiple viewings have generated $285 million in domestic revenue for Summit Entertainment, but your Stephanie Meyer-created Holy Grail doesn’t resonate with Joe and Jill the Plumber. Maybe the 16 Twilight-free months between now and November 18, 2011, when Breaking Dawn (the first part) hits theaters, will blue ball you folks into taking that movie to new heights money-wise. But probably not, because as we’re learning movie-by-movie, Twilight isn’t a universe – like Star Wars, Star Trek, or Harry Potter; it’s an emotion and the heartstrings can only carry you so far and only attract so many, just ask the daytime soaps. At any rate, it appears I’ll be taking KVNU’s Tyler Riggs to Golden Corral so he can enjoy a succulent sirloin and dine amongst all the nursing home escapees and illegal immigrants. A bet is a bet and Mr. Riggs has once again proven prophetic. Kudos to you, Tyler and a hearty bowl of FU soup to the Twilight fans that screwed me over. If only you had all seen it 12 times instead of five! Damn you!

The Karate Kid remake opens tomorrow and is currently hovering at 55% fresh on RottenTomatoes.com. It’s hard to fathom a classic from my youth being remade with Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith, son of Will, but I suppose as the hair gets grayer this is bound to happen. Plus, Hollywood is infatuated with the 1980s right now, so in all honesty The Karate Kid remake is a no-brainer. Could this be the week Shrek Forever After gets knocked off the box-office throne? I’m betting yes and I’m also wagering The Karate Kid will be the number one movie when receipts are tallied on Monday. Speaking of getting older, Ralph Macchio, i.e. Pony Boy and Daniel LaRusso, is 48 years old and really hasn’t done much since his days on the cover of Tiger Beat. But he recently teamed up with Funny or Die.com for this documentary on his life, aptly titled Wax On, F**k Off! Click the article heading to watch the clip, or just click here.
