Hunger Games Movie Finds Prim, Glimmer and Marvel

by Emma

I have never ever been this excited for a movie. The Hunger Games Movie is going to be freaking awesome and now we are even closer to getting the casting part done. Today, Lionsgate cast Willow Shields as Primrose Everdeen and Elizabeth Banks is being considered to play Effie Trinket. Primrose (Prim) is Katniss’ (Jennifer Lawrence) little sister who, at the reaping in District 12, was originally picked to be in the 74th Hunger Games, but Katniss volunteered to go instead. Effie Trinket is the tributes escort who takes the Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Katniss to the Capitol and helps them get ready for the Hunger Games. Yesterday they cast Leven Rambin as Glimmer the evil witch (who steals Katniss’ bow) from District One and Jack Quaid as Marvel, also from District One. For those who haven’t already heard, Amandla Stenberg and Dayo Okeniyi were cast earlier this week as District Eleven’s Rue and Thresh.

I love all the actors and actresses the filmmakers have picked so far. I just can’t wait to find out who will play Haymitch, President Snow, Cinna and everybody else. Now get ready to put this on your calendar, post it in your room, tattoo it on your arm, whatever, because on March 23, 2012, The Hunger Games will be in theaters! Yippee! Let’s all say a little prayer that they won’t screw this up and that it will end up good. Do you like these picks? If not who did you want? Who should be cast for the remaining characters? Don’t be afraid comment on this article!

There are two brilliant things here:

    1) This casting move. Based on appearance alone, it looks like an inspired choice.

    2) Emma’s debut post (I think) on AATM. Wonderful job!

Leven Rambin was in a Disney Channel show for a while, Elizabeth Banks is the secretary in Spiderman 3, and that’s all I know of.

I must admit, I have not read these books, but have heard awesome things about them. My only thought is…do I wait to read the book until after the movie or should I do it before? Most of the time I am not a big fan of movies that have come from popular books like this one, so I may wait. Either way, I am sooo excited to see Emma posting on here and excited to see what all the fuss is about with these books. WTG! Welcome to AATM.com

Read the books first, so just in case they screw up the movie you can be mad with me.

I wasn’t interested in this film one bit until I read your preview Emma.
But I do have to disagree with you on one thing.

    TEAM GALE!

Gale is a player and I don’t go for the players, so yes Peeta is my favorite. He is just one of those guys who you can only find in books. Gale? Well like I said he’s a player, you can find those anywhere.
