Please, Bridesmaids, Don’t Let Me Down

MacGruber cut me deep last May. It cut me real deep. Maybe I was in a state of euphoria for the oncoming summer weather and movies, especially since I live in Utah, which, everyone knows is Indian for holy-googly-moogly-it-is-colder-than-hell, but regardless, a movie I thought was going to be pretty funny (mainly after the red band trailer) turned out to be nothing of the sort. In fact, I don’t think I really laughed. This is why I’m a little gunshy about Bridesmaids, which hits theaters on May 13, 2011. It has all the makings of a fantastic comedy, but I can’t help but worry we’ve seen all the funny parts in the trailers, including the just-released red band version below. Either way, I have a secret crush on Kristen Wiig, I think Judd Apatow knows comedy and I think director Paul Feig, who has helmed many an episode of television’s The Office, is more than capable.

I’m crossing my fingers and getting ready to laugh at this chick version of The Hangover. How about you?
