I realize that Emma Stone (Easy A, Zombieland, Superbad) is only 21 and I was learning how to drive when her mom was powdering her baby booty, but man oh man is she a full-blown hottie. Yes, she’s gorgeous, but her sense of humor and personality make her hot. I’d imagine she’s the type of girl who would wolf down pizza and beer with you at 1AM and then stay up with you until the wee hours of the morning playing XBOX and screaming profanities at other gamers. I don’t know about you, but that’s heaven right there in my book.
Alas, I digress.
In case you missed it, Miss Stone will be teaming up with Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) in the yet-to-be-titled Spiderman reboot (directed by 500 Days of Summer’s Marc Webb); she’ll be playing Gwen Stacy alongside Garfield’s Peter Parker/Spiderman. Some internet movie sites had Stone listed as playing Mary Jane Watson, but I assume that’s because the filmmakers are having Stone play Spidey’s first love, which, if you dig deep into the comics, was Gwen Stacy. Most moviegoers will remember Gwen Stacy from Sam Raimi’s terrible Spiderman 3, wherein she was played by the terrific Bryce Dallas Howard (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse).
I’ve been on the fence about the Spiderman reboot, probably because I can still taste the bitter, acidic bile that Raimi’s third film left in my mouth, but ever since Webb was announced as director and seeing Garfield excel in The Social Network, I’m warming to the eventual 2012 release. Adding Emma Stone is simply the cherry on top.
