AMERICAN SNIPER Gets a Trailer and I Get Goosebumps

Bradley Cooper is one of the most talented actors working today. Period. He’s was marvelous in SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK, amazing in AMERICAN HUSTLE and 100% hilarious as Rocket the Raccoon in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. Now he’s teamed with Clint Eastwood to bring the story of Chris Kyle – from his autobiography, AMERICAN SNIPER – to the big screen. If you remember, Kyle died in February of 2013, shot to death at a gun range by a friend suffer from post

Movie Review: Hereafter (C)

I oftentimes find myself grossly swindled by movie trailers, but in the case of Clint Eastwood’s new “supernatural” thriller, Hereafter, the plodding, head-scratching trailer matched the contents of Dirty Harry’s movie to the letter. I read a review this morning opining that only Clint Eastwood could have directed such a lovely movie about life-after-death, but I wholeheartedly disagree on both points: This isn’t a movie about life-after-death (more on that later), and Clint Eastwood absolutely couldn’t be the only director

Trailer Tuesday: Hereafter

Clint Eastwood turned 80 years-old in May and he might be, in his old age, one of the busiest men in Hollywood. If he’s not the busiest, then definitely he might be one of those most acclaimed filmmakers of the last decade. Think about it: Invictus, Gran Torino, Changeling, Letters from Iwo Jima, Flags of Our Fathers, Million Dollar Baby, and Mystic River are highly acclaimed (and awarded) films in the last six years. But this should come at no

A Five Second Ode to Mr. Clint Eastwood

Invictus did a modest haul this weekend, coming in third after Princess and the Frog and the increasingly aged The Blind Side. In modest recognition of such a modest return, we’re honoring our favorite gruff, weathered and high-waisted pant-wearer/director. Thanks to our favorite Las Vegan reader SKG, who sent us (via the comments) the following send up of Eastwood’s multiple 2005 Oscar Winner  Million Dollar Baby in five seconds. We thought we’d post it front and center in case anyone

Does Clint Eastwood Ever Stop?

Not only is Clint Eastwood a superb director, but he is a hard worker. Seriously, the guy has been going non-stop with award-winning films since 2003 and Mystic River, which, I should add, he followed-up with Million Dollar Baby, Flags of Our Fathers, Letters from Iwo Jima, Changeling, Gran Torino, Invictus and, due in 2010, Hereafter. With the exception of Hereafter, I dare you to argue that any one of those movies isn’t nothing short of stellar. You can’t. And

Whoa! Clint! Slow Down!

You know who is a workaholic? Clint Eastwood. The dude is pumping out movies lately like nobody’s business. And the great thing? They are movies that actually don’t suck. So, not only does he work his bahookey off, but he picks his projects wisely. Check out this track record since 2003: Mystic River (2003) Million Dollar Baby (2004) Flags of our Fathers (2006) Letters from Iwo Jima (2006) Changeling (2008) Gran Torino (2008) And now, in limited release in December,
