What’s in Your Netflix Queue?

netflixIt’s been awhile since I’ve shared the sacred contents of my Netflix queue with AATM.com readers, partly because I’ve been slow at watching DVDs (summer movie season will do that) and also because we had free HBO and Starz for three months. At any rate, here are the top ten films simmering and percolating in my Netflix queue of 217.

12 – Russian twist on the classic 12 Angry Men

The Last House on the Left – Remake of the Wes Craven cult classic.

Waltz with Bashir – Animated movie about the Israeli/Lebanese war in the early 1980s.

Battle for Haditha – Movie about the killing of 24 Iraqi civilians after an insurgent bombing.

Dark Matter – Meryl Streep and Aiden Quinn in a cosmology thriller!

The Conversation – 1970s classic with Gene Hackman as a surveillance expert in San Francisco.

Band of Brothers: Disc One – I’m ashamed to admit I’ve only seen snippets. And the best place to start is the beginning.

Black Book – Critics gave high marks to this Paul Verhoeven movie. Something Verhoeven wants after Hollow Man and Showgirls.

Fanboys – Nerds unite to steal The Phantom Menace from Skywalker Ranch.

Right at Your Door – Dirty bomb goes off in L.A. and panic ensues.

Now, I ask you to open up and share what’s next-in-line for you at Netflix. Don’t be scared. This is a safe place.  You won’t be mocked or jeered for your choices, as long as it’s not Guess Who, Practical Magic, or The Errand of Angels.

What’s in your Netflix Queue

netflixIt’s been awhile since I’ve revealed the scantily clad shame of of my Netflix queue and opened my top ten to ridicule, mockery and overall lambasting. Right now I have “The Reader” sitting at home on Blu-ray, Kate Winslet’s netherregions beckoning for watching in HD. When I’m done with that, here’s what is forthcoming from my pals at Netflix. Click on the link to watch the trailer for the movie and let me know what you think. Good? Suck? And while we’re at it, what’s in your Netflix queue? Don’t be scared. Share.

What’s In Your Netflix Queue?

netflixI did a little rearranging of the old Netflix queue over the weekend. See, we have free HBO, Starzz and Encore for three months, so, while I’m not a huge TV guy, I’ve been surfing and catching movies on cable that presently reside in my NQ.  Here is my current top 10. What’s in yours?

What’s in your Netflix Queue?

netflixI have recently – as in four months ago – discovered the joy of Netflix. It’s nice to make a big list of movies (I have 137 in my queue as of right now) and re-prioritize whenever the mood strikes. Since Tuesdays generally are DVD release days, I figure every Monday I’ll share the top ten movies in my queue. Feel free to mock, comment and share your Netflix queues.

Contrary to popular belief, I don’t see every movie possible each week. I missed out on Oscar nominees “Doubt,” “Rachel Getting Married” and “Vickey Christina Barcelona.” As for the rest, well, I’ve never seen “Donnie Darko,” I want to know if “The Spirit” really is that bad, “Donkey Punch” is the coolest title for a movie, I have a massive crush on Paramore’s Hayley Williams, “Splinter” seems like a low-budget, indedpendent-spirit horror movie and that could spell good things, and “Darby O’ Gill and The Little People” is Sean Connery’s best movie (that and “The Rock”), so I’m renting it to see if (a) my kids will like it and (b) if it holds up. Smart money is to bet no on both of those.

Movie Review: The Last Airbender (F)

By ANDY MORGAN There are very few movies I completely and utterly abhor. Generally, I can usually find something positive or likeable in a film, even if said cinema is receiving disgust and scorn en masse from most fall-in-line movie critics. I relish the truth that I don’t always see eye-to-eye with most critics and [...]

Movie Review: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (B)

By ANDY MORGAN Making fun of Twilight fans and bemoaning Stephanie Meyer’s novels and the subsequent movies is almost as easy as drumming up sarcastic jabs about Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton or Miley Cyrus. There’s no effort required. It’s easy. And it’s also out of control. It’s almost as popular to dump on the vampire-werewolf [...]

Movie Review: The Last Airbender (C-)

By DAN VINTON If there’s one thing The Last Airbender does well, it proves any mystique surrounding M. Night Shaymalan is gone. With this coffin-bound nail, all residual goodwill The Sixth Sense director retained from followup successes like Unbreakable, Signs and even the creepy but fatally flawed The Village has been throttled by his is [...]
