Character Posters for The Hunger Games Movie!

These posters have been online for a month or more, but because I’m a serious slacker I haven’t posted them here at AATM yet.  I love the design of these posters, and while we’ve seen these characters (and more) in the full-length trailer for The Hunger Games, these one-sheets (going L to R) for Cinna, Cato, Effie, Katniss, Gale, Peeta, Rue and Haymitch, show a more detailed glimpse of the heroes and villains we’ll see when The Hunger Games hits

The Hunger Games gets a Fiery Motion Poster!

It’s been awhile since we’ve had any posts about The Hunger Games movie. The cast and crew are busy filming the first installment of a quadrilogy (Lionsgate announced in May the three novels would be split into four films) somewhere in Burke County, North Carolina, and one would think, with a release date of March 23, 2012, that we’d see a teaser trailer within the next two or three months. Despite the slow-going on the news, a motion poster for

First Look at Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen!

It might be gloomy, cloudy weather and raining cats and dogs outside right now, we might be four days away from the end of the world, and my birthday certainly isn’t today (it’s July 12, if you want to get me a present!), but I’ll be damned if today isn’t looking up! Why? Because today fans of The Hunger Games get their first look at Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone) as Katniss Everdeen, courtesy of the fine folks at Entertainment Weekly.

Is No Madge in the Hunger Games Movie a Surprise?

Everybody was happy when they got to the casting of Haymitch and hadn’t screwed anything up. Well guess what? There will be no Madge in The Hunger Games movie. Madge is the mayor’s daughter and is one of Katniss’ friends. Madge visits Katniss after the reaping and gives her the iconic mockingjay pin. Well apparently that won’t happen. I am not crushed by this, but I am excited to see how Katniss gets the pin. So here is my question for

The Hunger Games Cast is Officially Stacked

I read Suzanne Collins’ trio of dystopian young adult novels (The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay) last summer and was instantly caught up in the craze. Not one to re-read books very often, my attention turned quickly to the thought of a film version. Now, some eight months later, The Hunger Games movie is in full swing (filming starts in North Carolina next week), with the last two tributes (Cato and Clove) cast a few days ago, and both Stanley Tucci

What in the Name of Zeus’ Butthole?! Clash Moves to Avoid Katniss!

Just how popular are The Hunger Games novels and how explosive will The Hunger Games movie be? Just ask the folks behind Wrath of the Titans, the Clash of the Titans sequel due to hit theaters the same weekend – March 23, 2012 – as Katniss and Co. Wrath of the Titans saw the formidable fan base and hysteria surrounding The Hunger Games and smartly stepped out of the way, moving its swords and sandals mythology a week later, to

Is Hillbilly Hottie Jennifer Lawrence Cast as Katniss Everdeen?

Fans of The Hunger Games are going cuckoo at the news that Lionsgate Studios and director Gary Ross have cast Oscar-nominee Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone) as the badass babe from District 12, Katniss Everdeen. Now, when contacted by MTV News, Lionsgate denied no such offers have been made to Ms. Lawrence, but sources say the news is reliable and the 20 year-old actress, soon to be seen as Mystique in X-Men: First Class, is the exact mix of beauty and

Little by little The Hunger Games movie is starting to gain some speed and movement, something that has to make fans of Suzanne Collins’ novels giddy with joy. First, Gary Ross (Seabiscuit)was chosen to direct, presumably and hopefully, the first of three movies. Ross was given a budget of $60 million and stated he hopes to begin production later this Spring. Since Ross’ hiring, the movie has been confirmed to be PG-13 and recently a casting director – Debra Zane

New Katniss Casting Rumors for The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games movie, still without a confirmed director (although Gary Ross was thought to be in negotiations), apparently has a finished, Suzanne Collins-penned screenplay. We know this because two actresses, Kaya Scodelario and Lyndsy Fonseca, have let it slip they’re in possession of The Hunger Games script. Scodelario tweeted the revelation and Fonseca exposed as much at the New York Comic Con. If this is true, and it seems to be legit, the folks in the casting department at
