The Mouse and Marvel are Now Married

You know what $4 billion dollars can get you nowadays? Aside from three lifetime’s worth of Angry Whoppers from Burger King and a Brazilian Wax for each and every person living in Brazil, $4 billion buys the House of Mouse the House of Marvel, which includes Spider-Man, The X-Men, The Hulk, Iron Man, The Fantastic Four, Thor and Captain America. The deal doesn’t give Disney complete world domination of young boys just yet, as Marvel’s deals with Paramount, Sony and

Trailer Tuesday: Youth in Revolt

I love Michael Cera. I think he’s one of many young actors with a huge upside and huge potential, but I also would be lying if I didn’t say his deadpan, monotone nerd-shtick might be teetering towards the been-there-done-that. I’m not saying it’s not funny. It is funny. But all his major movies in the last three years – Superbad, Juno, Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist and Year One – are all replications of the same character. With the exception

Paramount Pictures Explains Shutter Island Move

I was reaaaaaalllly looking forward to Martin Scorsese’s new film, Shutter Island, this October and cried salty, bitter tears when Paramount Pictures announced last week they were moving the picture’s release date to February 19, 2010. Brad Grey, chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures released the following statement today: Our 2009 slate was greenlit in a very different economic climate and as a result we must remain flexible and willing to recalibrate and adapt to a changing environment.  This is

10 Video Game Movies Coming Before Halo

I sure love the Kotaku website. I get my video game fix there each and every day. But frankly, they can stick it up their collective butts on their 10 Video Game Movies You’ll See Before Halo post. Some on the list will suck without question – see Sims, Asteroids and Duke Nukem, but there are three I’m completely sure could be pretty sweet, those being Gears of War, Bioshock and Deadspace, with a close fourth and fith to World

New Trailer for Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story

Love him or hate him, agree or disagree, one thing cannot be refused about Michael Moore – he is entertaining. He’s back pounding the pavement, in search of truth and justice, in his new documentary Capitalism: A Love Story, opening on October 2, 2009. Based on the sort of meh I felt after watching Moore wander the streets in his trademark cap and urban-hobo attire, I’m not entirely sure this movie will cause a stir and an impact like Fahrenheit

What’s in Your Netflix Queue?

It’s been awhile since I’ve shared the sacred contents of my Netflix queue with AATM.com readers, partly because I’ve been slow at watching DVDs (summer movie season will do that) and also because we had free HBO and Starz for three months. At any rate, here are the top ten films simmering and percolating in my Netflix queue of 217. 12 – Russian twist on the classic 12 Angry Men The Last House on the Left – Remake of the

Taken + Unfaithful = The Other Man

Oh, man! Qui-Gon Jinn is pissed in this trailer for The Other Man. And why wouldn’t he be? First he’s got to rescue his spoiled rotten daughter in Taken, and now he learns his wife, played by Laura Linney (The Savages), is having sexytime with Antonio Banderas (The Legend of Zorro). On first glance, this looks like the writers from the aforementioned Taken linked up with the creative masterminds behind Unfaithful and pounded out a script for this your-having-an-affair-with-my-wife-and-now-I’m-going-to-stalk-you thriller.

Trailer Tuesday: The Twilight Saga: New Moon

I didn’t see Bandslam on Friday, so I’m not sure if this is the much-anticipated New Moon trailer the web was abuzz with last week. However, it is a new trailer and Twilight makes women and girls people go crazy, so here it is. I actually like this trailer because I am on Team Jacob. I relate to the guy always labeled as “friend” and always passed over for the taller, paler, douchier guy. At any rate the Abercrombie &
