(Redband) Trailer Tuesday – The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard

I laughed my kiester off watching this redband trailer for “The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard,” which makes me worry the actual movie will suck. We’ll all know soon enough, as it’s due to hit theaters on August 14th. I just don’t see how a movie with Jeremy Piven (HBO’s “Entourage”), Ed Helms (“The Hangover”), Ken Jeong (“The Hangover”), Kathryn Hahn (“Revolutionary Road”), Ving Rhames (“Mission: Impossible III”), David Koechner (“Get Smart”) and Craig Robinson (“Pineapple Express”) could not be

Happy Monday to YOU, Peter Jackson!

Just as I was ready to buy stock in the ExtenZe company for the sheer excitement and anticipation “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” scribe Stuart Bettie stirred in me last week with his zeal for a “Halo” movie, Peter Jackson craps on my dreams of seeing Master Chief on the big screen with both Joystiq and at a Comic-Con panel for “District 9.” Click on those stories to read in depth the details, but both links pretty much say

Mormons Afraid of Hollywood

The Salt Lake Tribune has a story up about a new religious study conducted by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, and amongst various tidbits about members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS, i.e. Mormons), the study reports that 68 percent of LDS folks feel their values are threatened by Hollywood. According to the study, the “general population” feels less threatened by Hollywood at only a 42 percent clip. I’m not really sure what

Oh Em Gee! Someone Said Halo Movie!

John Campea of The Movie Blog likes to point out quite often that video game movies suck. Sadly, I’d have to agree. I suppose you could call me a “gamer,” but I really only follow a few franchises – “Halo,” “Gears of War,” and “Call of Duty” – and I’m rarely impressed or surprised by other games. I think “BioShock” and “Dead Space” are the only other games of late that have been both awesome in gameplay and easily destined

Stupid Clash Poster Won’t Stop my Nerdrection

This plain, boring, zero-inspiration, third-grade Photoshop poster for the “Clash of the Titans” remake isn’t going to stop me from geeking out and circling March 26, 2010 on my calendar. No sir! In fact, I’m actually wondering if the remake can even come close to trumping the two hours of awesome that is the 1981 version. That movie satisfied all my third-grade appetites – nudity, crazy creatures, hairless dudes in skirts fighting with swords, winged horseys and enough herky jerky

Fox Announces Avatar Day, Nation Exclaims Ava-wha?

Remember that crazy bearded fellow named James Cameron who made everyone cringe when, after winning the best director Oscar for “Titanic,” exclaimed “I’m King of the World!” ? Talk about taking your time after an Oscar victory to choose your next project carefully, but the wait is finally over. August 21, 2009 is “Avatar” Day! Ava-wha? Yeah, I know. I feel the same way. Frankly, unless you have your finger on the movie pulse of the web, you probably don’t

Alice in Wonderland Teaser Trailer

We were privy to some first-look photos last month and now the teaser trailer for Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” has hit the web. I don’t have much to say, except it looks a lot like, well, Tim Burton. That’s what I thought (and what Dan wrote) when we first saw the Entertainment Weekly pics. But guess what? That’s a good thing. My only question is this: Why a March release date? Call me skeptical, but wouldn’t this be better
