KVNU For The People Movie Show: Does SUPERMAN Soar or Stumble?

Is the age of superheroes finally losing its luster, or can the Man of Steel save the day? On this week’s KVNU For The People Movie Show, I shared my review of James Gunn’s brand-new SUPERMAN, and here’s the headline: I loved it. Gunn brought hope back to Metropolis in a way that feels true to the comics: campy, colorful, and unapologetically goofy. As much as I’ll defend Zack Snyder’s brooding, Instagram-filter Superman, this new take is a breath of fresh air and a clear signal that the DC Universe is headed in an exciting new direction.

But we didn’t stop there. We also dug into the bigger question: are audiences feeling superhero fatigue? With so many capes, multiverses, and post-credit scenes flooding theaters, is the genre finally running on fumes, or is there still room for reinvention?
