New KONG: SKULL ISLAND Trailer Screams Springtime Awesomeness

KONG: SKULL ISLAND wasn’t even on my cinema radar until I happened to catch the Comic-Con trailer back in late July. I remember reading about the movie, but I shrugged it off as a Hollywood cash-grab. The Comic-Con trailer caused me to retreat on my assumptions and, now, this new trailer still has me giddy, but the John C. Reilly castaway character has me wavering in my post-July excitement. I kept waiting for Reilly to say, “I like to picture my Kong in a tuxedo t-shirt.” I joke, of course, but in all seriousness, the variance in the two trailers has me wondering what we’ll get come March 10, 2017. March is the new May, so with Tom Hiddleston (CRIMSON PEAK) and Brie Larson (ROOM) leading the charge, I’d assume this will be quite the blockbuster.

Side note: 2017 is going to be bananas (no pun intended). I count – at minimum – 15 potentially huge blockbusters, including STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2, WONDER WOMAN, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, JUSTICE LEAGUE, THOR: RAGNAROK, and FAST 8. Those are just some of the easily recognizable, sure-fire hits. I’ll post a big list later and you can let your eyes pop. 2017 is going to be hugely bigly.
