PREY Won Hulu – Will BADLANDS Win the Big Screen?

Dan Trachtenberg shocked a lot of people in 2022 when PREY became the best PREDATOR movie since the original. Stripped down, tense, and smartly crafted, it proved there was still real blood pumping through this decades-old franchise. But PREY was a streaming release on Hulu – a lean, unexpected success that quietly dominated the conversation.

Now Trachtenberg is stepping back into the hunt with PREDATOR: BADLANDS, and this time the stakes are higher. It’s headed for the big screen, which means bigger expectations, bigger budget, and a lot more scrutiny. Can he bring that same magic when the lights go down in a theater instead of your living room?

The proof will be in the box office numbers come November. And as we’ve seen this summer, general audiences are picky when it comes to showing up for franchise films, whether sequels or reboots. The die hards will show up for sure, but the magic happens when you get Joe Plumber to show up and to get folks to come back for viewing #2. I think 20th Century Fox is hoping for just one of the two scenarios in that last sentence.

Check out the trailer above and see if this new look at the November 7, 2025 flick looks to be right up your alley.
