THE AMATEUR delivers exactly what you’d want from a solid espionage thriller: a tight pace, a great supporting cast, and just enough tension to keep you leaning forward. I’ll even give props to Rami Malek – who usually sits in my “Eddie Redmayne Bubble” of actors I respect more than enjoy – but here? He’s restrained, compelling, and surprisingly watchable.
It’s not rewriting the spy playbook, but it doesn’t need to. THE AMATEUR is a worthy weekend watch. Full review on today’s KVNU For the People Movie Show.
