I’ve now seen WEAPONS twice, and both times it absolutely floored me. This is not just one of my favorite horror movies of 2025 — it’s one of my favorite movies of the year. Full stop. Director Zach Cregger (BARBARIAN) has crafted another brilliant entry in the world of “elevated horror,” the kind of film that transcends the genre and demands to be taken seriously.
From top to bottom, the performances are stellar, the atmosphere is pitch-perfect, and the storytelling is razor-sharp. The movie is damn near flawless and will no doubt land on my Best of 2025 and award season lists as the year winds down.
I gave WEAPONS a big shiny A on Friday’s episode of the KVNU For The People Movie Show. You can listen to that full podcast here, or check out all of our past shows if you have missed any over the last year.
Want to dive even deeper? Check out the interview with the cast of WEAPONS about their first time seeing the completed and final version of the movie (via Fandango).
